Wilshire One

The success of this project was due in large part to the clarity of the dialogue, both in way of budget and direction. The clients knew what was and wasn’t important to their lifestyle, most notably a desire for a reduction in visual clutter and a comfortable space for intimate informal gatherings in this 2,400 square foot high-rise apartment.

The understated detailing throughout exemplified by the custom cabinetry, hand scraped walnut floors, Ceasarstone countertops, automated closet lighting, custom air conditioning vents, ceruse white oak doors, and wired computer equipment cabinets all help add stillness and reduction to the now serene space.

“The beauty in this apartment is in what you don’t see. It was absolutely an exercise in warm minimalism” comments Christopher. Among some of the many innovations include the latest Lutron lighting and climate controls which can be controlled from an iPad. Televisions are discretely recessed into wall cavities, appliances utilize the latest integration technology including a BOSCH refrigerator which requires a master’s eye to identify in the space. A central technology hub in the home allows for upgrades and maintenance with minimal disruption to the household.
